ADRV: First Anti-Imperialist Seminar successfully held!
Here we would like to share an article (LINK) from the Action for the Democratic Rights of the People (ADRV) reporting on the successful holding of an anti-imperialist seminar.
First Anti-Imperialist Seminar successfully held!

We are pleased to report that our first anti-imperialist seminar was successfully held. With nearly 40 participants, the weekend-long summer seminar became a milestone in the current phase of the anti-imperialist movement in Austria. We would like to thank the participants, the speakers, and everyone who contributed to ensuring that the seminar could be held with determination, great enthusiasm, and a willingness to engage in discussion.
New momentum for the Anti-Imperialist Movement
Over the weekend of September 4–6, activists from the anti-imperialist and revolutionary movement in Austria held their first joint seminar. The starting point and foundation of the seminar were the struggles of the past period, the joint defense of national liberation and defense movements against imperialism, support for the struggles of oppressed peoples, and opposition to Austrian imperialism, which participates directly and indirectly in many acts of imperialist aggression. The discussions at the seminar were both contentious and highly unanimous, as the speakers came from various initiatives and organizations. The overarching theme was the aspiration to represent our shared concerns even more strongly and effectively together in the future, to take more joint action, and to provide powerful impetus for the anti-imperialist movement. The seminar fully lived up to these concerns and goals; the time spent together was put to excellent use, and an importang step forward was taken for future political debate.
Current issues in the Anti-Imperialist Movement
The spirit of the seminar was reflected in its inspiring guiding principles:
“Values & Knowledge.
Action & Understanding.
Break & Power.”
´With three thematic blocks, a short hike, and a lively evening around the campfire, this substantive seminar became an optimis milestone in strengthening the unity of anti-imperialists in this country. Topics such as the imperialist war against Iran and the stance of the left, contributions on “authoritarian liberalism,” and a presentation and discussion on the role of Russia and China in the current global landscape addressed highly topical issues within the anti-imperialist movement. To develop the analyzes and debates in the interest of the proletarian movement and the national liberation movements – that was the aspiration of the speakers and participants and thereby also the basis for optimism and determination to work towards a new leap, a qualitative development within the anti-imperialist movement in Austria.
Messages of Greeting and Solidarity
A special moment was the reading of two international messages of greeting addressed to the seminar. One was from the “Revolutionary Front for the Defense of the People’s Rights—Brazil” [LINK] and the other from “Migrante Austria” [LINK], a Filipino organization in Austria. These messages not only contributed to the seminar’s content but also provided insights into the struggles of the anti-imperialist and revolutionary movements in Brazil and the Philippines. With a symbolic banner action, the seminar participants also showed their solidarity with the struggles of the oppressed peoples in India and Brazil: “Long live the heroic resistance of the peasants of Santa Elina” and “Defend the political prisoners in India! The revolution will be victorious!” - these were the slogans aimed at raising awareness of these struggles in Austria as well.
Gratitude and Perspectives
We would like to thank everyone once again for their contributions, their tremendous support, and all the hard work that was put in. The presentation materials and statements are currently being edited but will soon be compiled and made available in an appropriate form to all participants and interested people. The atmosphere of the seminar demonstrated to all participants that substantive debate and engagement with the movement’s issues and positions also supports clarity regarding shared goals and enable the most determined segments of the movement to march in a common direction—standing shoulder to shoulder against imperialism! We look forward to feedback, request, and a follow-up to this seminar.
